With new research showing over seven in 10 people (72%) are suffering from stress and/or anxiety, and 65% of those feel stressed and/or anxious at least a few times a week, the importance of taking time to focus on wellbeing is greater than ever.
Here at Spice PR, we created ZenAM to help people combat stress and anxiety whilst also raising funds for our charity of the year. For 2024, that charity is Brainwave, which supports children with disabilities and additional needs from across the UK.
Held in a magnificent tipi tent, the morning began with a yoga session hosted by the experts at Genius Yoga. The relaxation continued with a crystal bowl sound bath from Sound Sanctuary, a talk on nutrition and self-care from So Nutrition and tips to help maintain the feeling of calm from Sarah Hall Coaching.
Keith Sinclair, CEO of Brainwave said: “Fundraising is crucial for us to deliver our specialist therapy services, enabling children with disabilities and additional needs to reach their full potential. We're delighted to be the first charity to benefit from ZenAM, which has also raised greater awareness of Brainwave. Wellbeing is at the heart of all we do, for our people, the children we support and their families. This is a lovely way to give to others whilst also improving your own resilience with some all-important self-care.”
With raffle prizes that included a personal nutrition plan, an hour of coaching and some top-of-the-range skincare and beauty products, it was a big draw! Additionally, the goody bags were packed with treats worth over £60, including a month’s worth of Rise and Shine nutritional supplements from Bare Biology, keto bars from Fatt, adaptogenic coffee from London Nootropics (as featured on Dragon’s Den), an online wellbeing event with coaching, a scented candle and more.

Joanne Freeman, Brainwave’s national fundraising manager, joined in the activities and said: “It’s been a wonderful morning and was a pleasure to take part. We’re thrilled with the funds raised which will have a meaningful impact in our work supporting children with disabilities and additional needs.”
ZenAM was featured in a host of publications, both before and after the event, including Yahoo News, Warrington Guardian, Warrington Worldwide, Charity Today, Cheshire Living, Glossy Magazine, Visit Manchester, I Love Manchester, Knustsford Guardian, Northwich Guardian and more. It was also widely profiled across relevant social media groups and local networks in order to reach the target audience.

The yoga was led by Genius Yoga founder Angela, a yoga teacher, holistic therapist and wellbeing mentor for schools. With over 10 years’ experience in yoga and wellbeing, Angela's specialisms include meditation, mindfulness, breathwork, face yoga, reiki, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and trauma awareness. Angela said: “It’s so important amidst the hectic pace of our daily lives that we all take some time to find a place of calm where we can just breathe! It’s been the most relaxing morning.”
Claire of Sound Sanctuary guided the sound bath. An accredited practitioner, Claire specialises in crystal bowl sound healing, as endorsed by the Complementary Medical Association. Her aim is to promote greater peace, balance and wellbeing, and awaken others to the transformative power of sound.
Sound Sanctuary delivered a soothing sound bath to relax the body and calm the mind
“It was a fantastic event and I loved being part of it," said Claire. "Movement, sound and nutrition are so important to our health, along with the right mindset, so it was the perfect combination of the key things to improve wellbeing on a physical and mental level.”
Award-winning nutritionist Sarah from So Nutrition gave an informative talk on nutrition and self-care and answered many questions from guests at the event. Sarah takes a holistic approach to wellbeing, helping people better understand the importance of nutrition. She is registered with the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) as well as holding a distinction in Nutritional Therapy from the College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Sarah Hall Life Coaching rounded off the morning with some tips for guests to maintain the feeling of calm. Sarah is dedicated to empowering others to prioritise self-care, reduce stress and unlock their full potential through self-awareness. As well as getting advice on the day, guests received a follow up exercise from Sarah to help focus the mind and an optional webinar with an emphasis on the importance of slowing down and reducing stress.
The feedback from guests was unanimously positive and they all enjoyed the blend of activities, so we can’t wait for the next one!
Thank you to all that supported and everyone who participated on the day. The funds raised are helping Brainwave deliver their expert therapies and can provide 26 children with specialist aids to enable them to communicate independently. What a result!
